The Horror...
So, it's been a bloody few weeks.
A club M and I go to from time to time was having something called Slumber Party Massacre. Basically you go dressed as a killer or a victim in bloody pajamas. So M got some bullet holes, and I applied and bloodied them for her - one between the eyes and two to the chest (and a damn fine job too, I might add). Some blood liberally applied to a wife beater shirt with a spray bottle and the victim was complete. I went as a killer, which is to say I dressed pretty much normally. It was fun. I always wanted to do special effects for horror films when I was growing up, so I suppose it was a taste of a past dream fulfilled. View my handywork.
I introduced some of the SDO crowd to Guitar Hero. I think they are now addicted, and let me tell you they can ROCK.
I, in the meantime, have completed my finals for this semester (I think I did well, but no word on grades yet) and become somewhat addicted to the Nintendo DS, which I just picked up. I've been training my brain, hunting aliens, and doing surgery. Not at the same time...that would be hard core.
So this past weekend was Horrorfind Weekend. After another night at the club hooked us up with free KMFDM, Combichrist, Panzer AG, and Frontline Assembly posters and I won a Neon Zoo cd (not bad, not great), we were off to the convention. I met Jason Voorhies, got a bunch of free posters and stickers and such (including an issue of Cthulhu Sex magazine - I didn't know such a thing existed), and spent too much money.
Finally I went and saw Pulse. It wasn't bad, I enjoyed it...but I would have enjoyed it more if idiots wouldn't have been screaming and then laughing heavily at thier own screams, or giving standing ovations when cell phones are thrown out of windows. As usual, too many idiots in a crowd can ruin anything. I've heard great things about The Descent, so I may be going to see that this weekend, as well as seeing Rollins Band and X. Should be some good times there.
Not much else going on...going through my checklist of things I need to do before acheiving civilian status again, trying to finish reading the veritable ton of books waiting for me to read, etc etc.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled surfing.
