The Owls are Not what they Seem.
I should probably do this more often than every month, February being a short one is no excuse. Anywho...
Been fighting a cold this week. It's almost gone, which is good because I hate being stuffed up.
I've been picking up a lot of old comics recently...DC Showcase Presents and Marvel Essential series. I used to go to a swap meet at a disused drive-in theater when I was a kid, and I would always sift through the comic boxes hunting down old horror comics, mostly from the 70's...I grew up on them, you might say. Man-Thing, Swamp thing, Dracula, Werewolf by Night, anthology comics...all that stuff. Now they are being reprinted, in black and white but cheap, so I'm all over it. Finished Jonah Hex and House of Mystery, so some weird old west and weird all around stories. Now I've got Tomb of Dracula vol 1 through 3, Monster of Frankenstein, Werewolf by Night, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, and Howard the Duck - the comics were much better than the film, trust me. It's all good stuff, and nostalgic.
Also going back to stuff I grew up on, I've been watching Twin Peaks from start to finish with my girl the M-Tron, who had never seen it. Now she is hooked. We are just over halfway through the series (which I havent watched in years), and sometimes we watch 4 or 5 episodes a night, until we are just too tired to stay up for more like we want to. She lets American Idol get in the way though, so that's 2 nights a week we can't watch. I would also have liked it if it was available on DVD in it's entirety...pilot with broadcast cutoff option AND season 2. As of now only Season 1 and Fire Walk With Me are out, but suposedly season 2 should be coming at the end of the year. Until then, it's VHS.
In other news I've been looking into using some of my military educational benefits and finally finishing off a degree, probably in a computer field of some sort. I have some options, and they look good...I just need to get off my ass and do them. Got my transcript updated, narrowed down a school, just got to get the paperwork in and start studying and taking classes. Should be good to have some sort of goal that doesn't involve finishing some of my video games. Which I really need to do, I might add...too many good RPG's gathering dust.
Come to think of it, I've got some DVD's I haven't watched yet either. And on that note, I'm off.
