Seattle, 2K6

Coming back home is good...relaxing, good for sorting my brain, seeing friends & family, and checking in to options.

Had a bit of trouble leaving Baltimore, as weather had the plane held up. While waiting, I watched some woman do some nunchaku practice, which was pretty cool...although I didn't know there was any way to get those past the security gate, and we were well past it. Maybe she worked there and was on break. Either way, it kindled an interest in nunchaku, a weapon I hadn't been very keen on before...must learn. Finally got on the plane, BARELY made my connection, and got to Seattle.

First weekend was pretty much hosed due to jet lag, which has never been a problem for me before. Chilled with my mom, did some shopping, hit some bars with some friends. Had dinner and saw King Kong with Porkfry, which was cool, then hit the Red Hook Brewery the next night...which I had never been to before, although I have wanted to for awhile. It was cool, and so was all the beer...one of the things I love about microbreweries is the sampler...one of every kind of beer they make, small glasses, but a bunch of them, including the seasonal. Good food too.

Also went to stay with my cousin on the other side of the sound, great place...awesome scenery. It was good seeing more family, my family rocks. Not big on football, but that day I actually watched the Seahawks win the playoffs...off to the superbowl. I hope they win...it will be a first, and my boss loves the Steelers. He'll probably give me a hard time just because my hometown team is up against his, so I might as well root for them. Either way it's cool the 'hawks are going.

Hit some more bars with more friends, doing more of that this weekend. Might even be getting my old leather jacket I wore in high school back, which would be cool, although I'm not sure where I would wear it...not so into some of the stuff I was into back then, and it's pretty well painted up with band logos, symbols, and lyrics, not to mention the spikes. I still like the spikes. Maybe I'll look into ways to re-dye it or something. Maybe not. Who knows.

Probably starting aikido with Apok when I get back to Baltimore and check my work schedule. I want to stay here, but at the same time I'm ready to leave...just to get the inevitable return trip over with, and see my girl M, who I miss quite a bit.

Anyways, that's all I got for now.
