Baltimore: First Thoughts

So I have my apartment, I have my stuff finally (still unpacking), and I have started work. Work is different...there seems to be more to it than my last job, but less to learn. Mostly on the job local knowledge type stuff that I'll pick up as I go.

The place is good, just want to get the unpacking over with. It seems almost all I do now is work and unpack, with the occaisional book, comic, or video game thrown in. The M-Tron finally moves in this weekend, which will be awesome. Gas prices are up, as is my commute time.

Baltimore is not a bad place...anime store, good comic shop, better channel selection on cable, and the city seems interesting, although I havent seen much of it yet. Fell's Point is cool though. I look forward to seeing more of it, including hitting Otakon and possibly the Baltimore Comic con in coming months.

On the down side, had another death in the family. My grandmother passed on the 4th of July, my last remaining grandparent and the only one I really remember...the rest died when I was very young. I'll miss her, great woman and made a damn good apple pie, among many other wonderful meals and traits.

I also miss the French Quarter, though not nearly as much...nor as much as the friends still down there.
