ALL DEAD. DO NOT ENTER.

It's a good time for zombies and the shambling undead.

Image comics has a series out called The Walking Dead, which is absolutely wonderful. Black and white, zombies roaming the earth, small band of survivors that keeps getting new members and losing old ones, and great storylines. Very human characters. Mostly out in the sticks, but has some glimpses of the cities full of rotting corpses that hunger for flesh.

DC comics just started Toe Tags, written by George Romero himself. Color, in the city, weird twists (just the first issue so far and there are several), and animals. Zombie monkeys, for one. An elephant trampling the zombies in city streets. Oh yeah. And did I mention George Fucking Romero was writing it? The guy who did the original greats like Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead? He's even working on a 4th film in that series, and a zombie musical as well. Sweet. And he's working with the American McGee (who made the delightfully twisted game Alice) on a zombie video game that they say may be the goriest game ever. Hold on, I think I need to towel the drool off myself. More on the game (City of the Dead) Here, here, and here.

The remake directors cut of Dawn of the Dead comes out in a few days. Aw yeah.

In non-zombie news, my girl is down here now and things are good. I need a break though, been pretty busy lately with lots of running around. I'll probably be chillin with my girl watching Serial Expiriment Lain to relax. The whole series. sweet.

Kuon comes out this week for PS2, so it's survival horror time for me in feudal Japan. Also the new set of classic NES games hits GBA, so some Castlevania and Zelda II action for me...not sure if I will pick them both up at the same time tho. Final Fantasy I and II hits GBA soon, as well as Metal Slug Advance...so I need to spread my purchases out a bit on that front.

Well, for now that's all I got...zombies and video games and anime. Don't get bitten by the shambling hordes and perhaps I'll have something more next time.

October Begins

Havent blogged in a little bit, and perhaps I should to keep the wolves at bay. Well, imaginary wolves really, as I am not sure how many readers are still around after my recent host move, or how many readers I really had in the first place. Hard to tell with no one ever COMMENTING on my blogs.

My time has been spent mostly playing and beating Shadow Hearts, starting Shadow Hearts : Covenant, and cleaning up my apartment before my girlfriend moves in later this week. I will focus on the latter since at least one reader has mentioned not really wanting to always hear about whatever video games I am playing, altho in my defense I don't do much else.

I have mostly focused on one room in my apartment that was basically my computer room slash storage room. And when I say storage I mean 2/3 of the room was taken up by assorted junk. So that has taken most of my time, yet less of it than I had expected. I still have a closet and some of my living room to deal with, and only a day and a half left...and I will be at work for one of those. Luckily the closet and living room combined should not take long.

The Shadow Hearts series is awesome. Thats all I am going to say about that...for now.

My girl got inked recently, and now I am feeling the urge for more ink myself...it's been a few years since my last tat, and I have a couple in mind. Might have to look into that soon.

Voodoo fest is this weekend in New Orleans. I would like to go see the Pixies and Sonic Youth, but $40 a ticket is a bit steep. Sure it is for an all day pass and there are a shitload of bands playing, but whan you only really want to see two of them it seems a bit high...plus my girl and her dad will be in town and may not want to go. Either way, it might be cool for someone, so heres the link if you are in the area: linky

My tickets finally showed up for Endless Night as well...now I just have to choose which mask to wear. Decisions decisions...
