One more week until I go to Seattle for a much needed vacation. Seriously, I don't think I ever used to be this bitter before, a sure sign I am in need of time off. I may be a few months early for PAX, but I will be hitting a certain birthday bash for the man called Porkfry. Should be good times.

Well, I do get bitter when people fuck with my comics. They are making a movie of The Watchmen. Some of us have been waiting for this for a LONG time...awesome comic, hopefully an awesome movie.

Except for one thing...from the above linked article, they are thinking of omitting or downplaying the scene with New York in ruins from an extra-dimensional being. Why? Because of 9/11. DUMB REASON. I am sick and tired of people saying 'Well, we WERE going to stick to this original thing, but we fell too many people may still be sensitive about this thing that happened in New York 3 years ago, so we are just not going to have TOO much destruction happen there.'
I say fuck that...do it how it is supposed to be done. Was New York REALLY decimated by an extra dimensional being? NO. I could see their point if the original comic sequence hinged on scenes of the giant tentacled monster destroying the World Trade Center, but it didn't. It was mostly times square if I remember correctly. If people can't handle New York city getting destroyed by random NOT REALISTIC things, they can go watch something else...New York is traditionally the stomping ground in movies and comics for massive devastation. Saying you are not going to create false devastation in a specific city because a real tragedy happened there is not going to change anything, nor do I beleive people would leave the theatre crying over the scenes that involve a HUGE MONSTER WITH ONE EYE AND TENTACLES. Leave our stories the way they were supposed to be.

Anyways, I'll stop rambling for now.

So things are a bit better now. Been stressin more than usual at work lately, but that seems to have mostly gone away with the realization that my job is simply not very important, so I should stop stressing about it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't pay attention, it's just more about avoiding headaches for myself while at work than it is about actually keeping anything safe, a shift in priorities. I still have to keep things safe and 'by the book' to avoid headaches for myself. The way I do my job hasn't changed, just my mindset about it. I transfer in a year anyways, hopefully out of the south forever.

Also helping to de-stress was a trip to New Orleans, which was amusing. I am looking forward to heading back to Seattle for a couple weeks soon as well...that will be a HUGE stress relief, which is much needed...way I have been lately, if I don't get my vacation soon people will have to start dying. ;)

I am toning down my involvement with Final Fantasy XI for a little while, as it is starting to piss me off a bit...too party based, and too hard to find a good party. 3 out of every 5 parties I have fought with didnt work, usually because of one member or two, altho the good parties were REALLY good. The leveling down bit is bullshit as well, exp loss should be it, but not losing a whole level. Plus, I am neglecting other games...you KNOW there is something wrong when the AtomicFreak lets a Resident Evil game gather dust for 2 weeks...not to mention Onimusha Blade Warriors and a couple others.

I am really looking forward to the summer tho, some good times to be had soon. Now if I can just get some of my things for school in order, I'll be all set...

Well, it's easter and yet again I have to apologize...you see, it is a shitty day and all I have to say is bitching.

I wake up and invite Wolf Shaman over to set up his FFXI character on my PS2, as the PC version on his computer is locking up during character creation. Also, my neighbor made me mashed potatoes, cookies, and a biscuit. After this, I'm feeling pretty good.

Then I get to work, and a co-worker tells me of the cat he found crying on his doorstep and unable to move this morning, and how he couldnt get anyone to come get it because it is easter and this shithole town doesn't have an ASPCA anyways, so when he went home on break it was dead. He had to bury it on his lunch break. This soured my mood, I like cats.

The A/C at work is broken from last nights thunderstorm, so it is 79.8 degrees fareinhieght in here, even with doors and windows open, a couple fans going, and a rainstorm outside. This is doing nothing for my mood, as I want very badly to have some sort of calamity happen to these boaters I am talking to on the radio. I hate heat. Maybe I should start sniffing glue or something.

So yeah, Happy Easter. If I know you, I'd call you to tell you that, but I forgot my cell phone at home. Another fine aspect of this day...

Oh, and in the good news department, I'll be in Seattle for a couple weeks in the middle of May...that thought improves my mood somewhat.

Well, I went and did it. For years I made fun of Everquest, refering to it as Evercrack and it's players as Evercrackheads. But now I've gone and done it, turned to the dark side of MMORPG's.

That's right, I'm playing Final Fantasy XI online. Soon, Resident Evil Outbreak will be infested by me too, fighting zombies online.

If anyone reading this is playing FFXI, I am on the Alexander server(EDIT: I have moved on to Leviathan server now, in Bastok), a warrior named Atomicfreak in San D'Oria, if you want to join up and kill some stuff or run some missions and quests. I have yet to play in a party, so bear with my lack of skillz. Also, I am a level 5 right now, so if you just want to hook me up with free stuff that may be weak for you but an upgrade from my current stuff, it is always appreciated!

Other than that, not much going on. Might try to hit Seattle for a bit of R&R next month, we'll see soon. Check out an anime series called Cosmo Warrior Zero...awesome stuff from the creator of StarBlazers, and it has Captain Harlock in it too.

And dammit, I still can't find my straightjacket.
